Davidson High School Uniform Policy

In order to facilitate a positive learning environment, Davidson High School supports and enforces a simple uniform policy.
Students who violate the uniform policy will face disciplinary action. 

2024-2025 Uniform Policy

1.     Shirts: Male/ Female

1.     White button-down shirt

2.     Black polo*

3.     Club or team spirit shirts can be worn on Fridays only, uniforms pants are required

4.     Athletes can wear his or her jersey on game days only, uniform pants are required

2.     Outerwear: Male/Female 

1.     Black sweatshirt solid

2.     Black DHS sweatshirt

3.     Only jackets, sweaters, or sweatshirts are permitted as outerwear. 

4.     Hats or hoods of any kind ARE NOT ALLOWED to be worn. Disciplinary action may occur if the student has continued violations. 

5.     Raincoats or non-uniform gear must be removed upon entering the building and stored. 

3.     Pants: Male/ Female

1.     Tan, khaki, standard uniform slacks - cotton or blend twill; fitted and belted at waist; full length to ankle; no Capri length or denim, no elastic at the ankle

2.     Pants should be school or work appropriate- no intentional holes, tears, stains, markings; no baggies/spandex, legging-style, no jogger-style pants

4.     Accessories: Male/ Female

1.     Belts should be black or brown

2.     Student IDs should be worn at all times*

5.     Shoes: Male/ Female

1.     Athletic Shoe*

2.     Black or brown leather shoes

3.     Must be fully enclosed shoe - no open toe or heel

4.     No Crocs

 

Not allowed

a.     Hoodies

b.     Skirts

c.     Shorts

d.     Crocs

e.     Slides or slippers

f.      Non-religious head-covers (hats, hoods, bonnets, scarves)

g.     Blankets

h.     Jeans

i.       Open-toed shoes

Additional Notes:

Inclement weather wear: Must be removed and stored in locker upon entering building. No sunglasses, headgear, hats, scarfs, or bandanas may be worn inside the building.

Graduation Ceremony attire: Dark pants and shoes with white shirt for men; dark dress for women worn shorter than gown; black shoes; no jewelry or flowers worn on the gown; must wear the school adopted gown.  The uniform is not to be worn as a "fashion statement," but must be the standard uniform style.  If parents have difficulty finding standard styles in retail stores, we encourage you to check with school uniform centers, where the standard styles are available.
