Mrs. Baxter’s students were hard at work in all three classes:
👨🍳 Culinary 2 mastered ServSafe safety while cooking Chicken Stir Fry three ways — Chinese, Korean, and Mediterranean.
🍗 Culinary 1 explored cooking methods with chicken poached, pan-fried, grilled, and baked.
🌍 Hospitality & Tourism connected food and service to the five major areas of the industry: Food & Service, Lodging, Travel, Entertainment, and Recreation.
We are so proud of these outstanding young ladies who will represent Davidson High School at the Mobile Azalea Trail Maid County Interviews!

Today we’re celebrating the power of literature and the creativity of our students at DHS!
📝 Mrs. Faris’s Women in Literature class explored Sweat by Zora Neale Hurston, writing hypothesized summaries using a curated word bank.
🎨 Ms. Callais’s 12th grade students connected Beowulf to modern life through powerful visual projects.
📖 In AP Literature, Ms. Wilhelm’s class is actively engaging with Pride and Prejudice through thoughtful reading journals.
🖋️ In AP Seminar, Mrs. Kuntz's students stepped into the world of The Scarlet Letter, writing diary entries from the perspectives of Hester, Dimmesdale, or Chillingworth after Chapters 7–8—exploring themes of justice, identity, and perception through the characters’ voices.
📘 Ms. Kinard’s 11th grade English class studied The United States Constitution: A Graphic Adaptation, analyzing genre, style, symbolism, and author’s intent—while reflecting on the importance of knowing your rights.
✨ And in Ms. Shantazio's IB Literature class, students dove into a Symbolic Mapping activity for The Kite Runner, tracing key symbols and crafting thematic statements to deepen their understanding.
