What are you up to, Warriors? 🌟
This summer, rising IB/EPIC junior Edwin Perry spent his time giving back as a volunteer counselor at Camp SMILE. Edwin enjoyed serving others and making a difference in the lives of campers while helping create unforgettable memories.
Camp SMILE’s mission is to empower children and adults with disabilities to live their lives without limits through an inclusive summer camp experience where there is no limit to the adventure—and Edwin was proud to be part of that mission.
As summer winds down, Edwin is looking forward to returning to campus and performing on the snare line during marching band season! 🎶

Congratulations to Pheven Yohannes, Juan Carcamo Dal Zotto, Dev Mehta, and Anna-Marie Fulton, who recently participated in the UAB Heersink School of Medicine White Coat Ceremony. This special tradition marks the beginning of their medical school careers and symbolizes their commitment to the medical profession.
We are so proud of these outstanding Warriors and can't wait to see the impact they will make in the field of medicine and in the lives of others.
Congratulations, Pheven, Juan, Dev, and Anna-Marie! Your Davidson family is cheering you on every step of the way. Once a Warrior, always a Warrior!
When a smoke detector malfunction sent us outside today, our students and staff followed procedures and made the most of the moment. Thank you for your patience and positive attitude. That's the Warrior Way!

A proud Davidson graduate from the Class of 2010, Coach Yancey brings a strong foundation of Warrior tradition and experience to the role. He has served as Davidson's JV Boys Basketball Head Coach for the past eight years while also spending eight years as an assistant coach for the Varsity Boys Basketball team.
Coach Yancey is committed to player development, focusing on improving individual skills, helping athletes understand their roles within the team, providing consistent feedback, and celebrating growth both on and off the court. He believes practices should be organized, competitive, and purposeful, with an emphasis on daily effort and the understanding that preparation determines performance. Most importantly, he wants his players to enjoy the game and have fun while reaching their full potential.
Coach Yancey plans to hold girls basketball tryouts in October. We are excited for the future of Lady Warriors Basketball and look forward to the impact Coach Yancey will make on our student-athletes.

With so many Davidson runners taking part, it's clear this team is already putting in the work. We can't wait to see how fast they run this season!
Way to represent, Warriors! 🖤💛

The results are official, and the Davidson High School International Baccalaureate Programme continues to set the standard for excellence!
The Class of 2026 achieved an outstanding 95% IB Diploma pass rate, well above the global pass rate of 82%. This achievement reflects the hard work and academic commitment of our students and teachers throughout the rigorous two-year IB Diploma Programme.
Over the past six years, 113 Davidson Warriors have earned the distinction of IB Diploma Candidate graduates, achieving an impressive 97% diploma pass rate. These graduates join more than 200,000 students worldwide who successfully complete the IB Diploma Programme each year.
We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2026 and all of our IB graduates who continue to represent Davidson High School with excellence on both a local and global stage.
🖤💛 Congratulations to our students, teachers, and families on another remarkable year of achievement!

Rising IB senior Eli Weatherford was selected as one of just 23 rising high school seniors from across Alabama to participate in the 7th Huntingdon College Economic and Community Development Scholars Program!

Participants were chosen through a competitive selection process by their local Chamber of Commerce and the Huntingdon College Presidential Scholars Program.
Way to go, Warrior! 🖤💛

James Crane ('27) and AnnaGrace Crane ('28) spent part of their summer serving others on a mission trip to Missouri with the Spring Hill Singers. During the trip, they partnered with a local church to provide outreach and support to the community, helping make possible projects and ministries that would not have happened without the dedication and hard work of the SHS students.
James is looking forward to his senior year and his fourth year volunteering with Dance Without Limits. AnnaGrace is excited to continue volunteering with her church’s children’s ministry, serve through Dance Without Limits, and compete in cross country alongside her friends.
Way to go, Warriors! 🖤💛

This summer, Davidson High School's campus has seen several exciting improvements, including updates to our gymnasium. As part of the gym floor renovations, we proudly added the name of Coach William A. Ryan, the namesake of our gym, directly onto the floor, ensuring his legacy remains a visible part of Warrior tradition for generations to come.
We also refreshed our volleyball courts and added an additional court to support the growth of our volleyball program ahead of the fall season.
We can't wait for our Warriors to take the floor this year! 🖤💛

Rising IB senior Charlotte Milling recently completed a summer internship with Hargrove, gaining valuable real-world experience in a highly competitive program. At the conclusion of the internship, Charlotte joined her fellow interns in presenting the projects they worked on throughout the summer, showcasing the skills they developed and the knowledge they gained along the way. Way to go, Charlotte! 🖤💛

This summer, Davidson students put service into action across Mobile as part of Christ United Students’ Local Mission Week. Rising senior Olivia Lynn joined rising juniors Ella Couch and Natalie McMahon, along with rising sophomores Brennan Dennis, James Reeves, and Tori Matz, in volunteering at four local organizations.
From organizing medical and office supplies at Victory Health Partners to sorting clothing donations at Open Doors Thrift Store, purchasing and stocking food items for Life Gate Ministry, and packing backpacks filled with school supplies for local foster children through Fostering Together, these Warriors made a meaningful impact throughout our community.
We’re proud of the difference you made and can’t wait to see what this group accomplishes during another great year at DHS! 🖤💛

Several Davidson teachers spent part of their summer learning, growing, and getting inspired at A+ Training! 📚💡
Coach Diaz, Ms. Henley, Ms. Kinard, Ms. Wilhelm, Mrs. Smolinski, Mrs. Bondora, and Coach Allsup participated in professional development sessions designed to bring fresh ideas and new strategies back to the classroom. They are excited to apply what they learned and continue creating engaging learning experiences for our Warriors this school year.
We love seeing our educators lead by example and embrace lifelong learning. Thank you for investing in our students and our school community! 🖤💛
