As part of the IB Diploma Programme, seniors Zander Snyman and Brayden Sadler recently completed a CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) project focused on community outreach at Council Traditional School.

After reading a short story with students, Zander and Brayden led a fun cup tower challenge and used the activity to teach an important part of the IB Learner Profile: reflection. Students discussed what worked well, what mistakes were made, and how they could improve in the future, turning a simple competition into a meaningful learning experience.

Their impact was clear. As they prepared to leave, the students begged them to come back!

We are proud of Zander and Brayden for using their leadership skills to inspire younger learners and make a lasting difference in our community. ✨

Our Culinary Arts students have been busy!

A special thank you to Alecia South, a Davidson Class of 2010 graduate and Mrs. Baxter's daughter, for serving as our FCCLA guest speaker and sharing her knowledge of parliamentary procedures.

Our Hospitality & Tourism students explored the cost of lodging amenities by making Orange Julius drinks, Culinary 1 investigated heat transfer through boiled and sautéed potatoes, and Culinary 2 examined food allergens while preparing stir-fry dishes.

To top it all off, several of our culinary students volunteered at the Football Hall of Fame event on Friday night, putting their skills into action while serving the community.

Mrs. Hicks’ art classes had a few special visitors to help them prepare for this semester's theme: the estuary!

Joann Moody and Elise Knoll from the Dauphin Island Sea Lab brought preserved and live estuary specimens for students to see, study, and even touch. These hands-on experiences will help students better understand the animals of our local habitats as they create mixed media artwork throughout the semester.

We love seeing creative learning come to life while celebrating the ecosystems right here along the Gulf Coast!
