🎓 Senior Highlight: Lemya Compton 🎓
Lemya plans to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, GA, majoring in Film & Television with a minor in Business.
One of Lemya’s proudest achievements was starting the Warriors Film Club, becoming one of the most meaningful experiences of her high school years, teaching her valuable lessons about leadership, creativity, and managing a program. As a member of National Honor Society, Lemya balanced academics with a busy job at Publix, always striving to show appreciation for her school community. She is also involved in the art program and loves seeing her creativity displayed throughout the school.
Lemya gives special thanks to Ms. Morgan, a constant source of creative inspiration, and Mr. Faris, whose support made the Warriors Film Club possible. She will always cherish the laughter from her four years of high school—the joy that carried her through even the toughest days.
✨ Her advice: Keep going. Whatever bad you’re facing will pass. Peace begins when you stop blaming others and look within. ✨

🌟DHS Senior Spotlight: Kathryn McCrory🌟
Kathryn plans to attend Coastal Alabama Community College at the Bay Minette campus, where she will major in Elementary Education before transferring to the University of South Alabama after two years. Alongside her studies, she will continue pursuing her passion for working with children by working part-time at a preschool.
She was a member of DHS choir for the past four years, serving as an alto section leader and even performing with Foreigner, an experience she’ll never forget. Kathryn also participated in swim team for three years, attending swim meets and coming just shy of making state her sophomore year. In addition, she has been active in FCA for two years, serving on the leadership team, helping plan Christmas events, and making sure snacks were always ready for meetings. Most recently, Kathryn discovered a new passion by starting diving!
Academically, Kathryn is graduating with honors, an achievement she is incredibly proud of. She shares that the past four years have been emotionally challenging, but staying committed to her schoolwork and pushing herself through those difficulties has made her success especially meaningful and rewarding.
When asked about a teacher who made a difference, Kathryn points to Mr. Towler. “He’s taught me how to succeed in life,” she says. Even though he jokingly blames her for all his burps, he laughs at every one of her jokes—which makes it all worth it.
Kathryn’s favorite high school memory is Senior Sunrise, a moment she describes as pure joy. Seeing everyone come together for a tradition, meeting new people, and reconnecting with old friends made it unforgettable.
She also gives special recognition to Ms. Smith, who Kathryn proudly calls her G.O.A.T. Mrs. Smith has been a constant source of support, laughter, and comfort—especially on the hardest days. From letting Kathryn sit quietly in her office to giving her a sense of belonging when she needed it most, Ms. Smith has made an impact that Kathryn says she’ll carry with her forever.
Kathryn’s advice to others:
"You don’t have to have everything figured out—just keep moving forward, take opportunities when they come, and learn from every mistake. The path won’t be perfect, but it will be yours.”

🌟 DHS Senior Spotlight: Brooke Leatherwood 🌟
After graduation, Brooke plans to attend the University of South Alabama, where she will pursue a nursing degree with the goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner. She hopes to work with DHR, supporting families through treatment plans and conducting mental health evaluations—making a real difference in her community.
Brooke has been deeply involved during her time at DHS, playing basketball (2022–2023 & 2025) before becoming a JV manager, competing in track (2023–2024), participating in DECA, and being a proud member of National Honor Society since her sophomore year.
Academically, Brooke has excelled—earning Honor Roll status all four years, maintaining a 4.4 GPA, and entering college with nearly a full semester of credits already completed!
Some of her favorite memories include making Homecoming Court as a freshman and spending time with all of the counselors, who made school feel comfortable and welcoming every single day. She also gives a special shoutout to Mrs. Glass, whom she calls her rock during her senior year.
Her advice for future Warriors: “Stay focused. Do your homework. Sleep at home—not in class. Don’t worry about popularity; education is forever (and in this economy, you need it!).”

🌟 DHS Senior Spotlight: Natalie Webb 🌟
After graduation, Natalie will attend Bishop State, where she plans to earn her Associate’s degree in General Sciences.

Some of her favorite memories include competing at the Cross Country State Championship with her team and ranking among the top 3 teams in Splatoon Esports.
Natalie credits Mrs. Tucker as a constant source of inspiration, praising her dedication, compassion, and selfless support for students and teams.

Our Visual Art teacher, Ms. Morgans, dropped off an incredible collection of student artwork for the 68 Ventures Bowl Contest! The theme this year was “Historic Sites of Mobile,” and several talented Warriors from Art 1–4 chose their own mediums to bring these locations to life.
We’re so proud of their creativity and hard work. Good luck, Warriors! 🖤💛
