I have taught at Davidson High School since 1998.

Foundations of Algebra, Algebra A/B, Algebra 1, GT Algebra 1, Geometry A/B, Geometry 1, GT Geometry, Algebra 2, Algebra 2 with Trigonometry, GT Algebra 2 with Trigonometry, Precalculus, GT Precalculus, Special Topics in Math, Leadership: PSAT preparation, and Leadership: ACT preparation, EPIC GT Geometry, EPIC GT Algebra 2 with Trigonometry, Robotics (EPIC), Infinity Project (EPIC), AP Calculus, International Baccalaureate (IB) Math Standard Level Year 1 (Precalculus) and Year 2 (Calculus). 


The IB Precalculus and Calculus course are taught as dual enrollment courses through the University of South Alabama as MA 112 and MA 125.

1999- July: Hosted a 1-week mini-workshop for Texas Instruments Teachers Teaching with Technology at Davidson High School


2000- March: Attended Texas Instruments International Conference for Teachers Teaching with Technology workshop in Dallas, TX


2000- July: Hosted two 3-day workshop for middle and high school teachers on using technology in the math classroom for South Alabama Research and Inservice Center


2001- March: Presented at the Texas Instruments International Conference for Teachers Teaching with Technology workshop in Columbus, OH


2001- June: Presented a 2-day technology workshop for the Maysville Math Initiative


2001- July: Presented a workshop at the South Alabama Mathematics Symposium in Daphne for teachers in Baldwin County.


2001- November: Alabama Council of Teachers of Mathematics conference at Auburn University in Montgomery; presented a workshop and co-presented with Joe Eiland.


2002- July: Presented the Teacher Resources for Instructional Planning (TRIP) ( website to teachers at the Alabama Educational Technology Conference in Birmingham.


2002- August: Trained teachers at Davidson High School on the use of the TRIP website


2002- Presented a variety of staff development workshops for teachers in the Mobile County Public School System. Topics included Microsoft Excel for Math Teachers, Cleaning Windows [operating system], and using Microsoft FrontPage.


2003- April-July: Served on the Mathematics Leadership Team that wrote the course of study for Mobile County and chose textbooks

2003- Summer: Presented workshops for Technology development for Mobile county high school teachers in a 2-week workshop, and a 2-week workshop for middle school teachers


2003- March: Radio Shack National Tech Tools Award Recipient


2003- November: Presented a workshop to train teachers to use Microsoft FrontPage to update the TRIP website
2003- November: Awarded the Alfa Insurance Teacher of the Year
2003- December: Awarded the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award.
2004- April: Awarded the Mobile County Public Schools Secondary Teacher of the Year

March 2004- Attended the Texas Instruments Teachers Teaching with Technology international conference in New Orleans, Louisiana

2004- Summer: Presented workshops for the Instructional Technology department for Mobile county high school teachers in a 4 week-long workshops for Middle-High, and Elementary teachers.
2004- July: Attended a workshop for the BEST Robotics Competition to be held in September.

2005- April: Presented at the Enhancing Education through Technology (EETT) Best Practices Showcase

2005- Summer: Supervised the upgrade of the TRIP website (

2005- June: Attended the National Education Computer Conference in Philadelphia, PA.

2005- June: Certified as a SMART Exemplary Educator (Smarttech Inc.)

2005- July: Attended the Infinity Project Professional Development Institute at Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, CA.

2006: Summer: Worked at the University of Chicago to revise the second edition of the UCSMP Geometry Text

2006- July: Presented the workshop "Absolute Value: Teaching Secondary Math Using the Smartboard Interactive Whiteboard" at the National Educating with Computers Conference in San Diego, CA.

2006: September: Profiled in Educompass, Smarttech's Corporate Newsletter.

2006: Accepted position as one of the founding members of the Alumni Society of the College of Education at the University of South Alabama 

2006-2007: Served on the planning committee of the Engaging Youth in Engineering project with the Mobile Area Education Foundation

2007: March: Attended International Baccalaureate Training at Rice University  

2008: August: Passed Microsoft Office Specialist Exam for Excel and Excel Expert,

2011: Participated in Google CS4HS (computer Science for High School) workshop at the University of Alabama

2012: Summer: Participated in an NSF Grant with the University of South Alabama's Chemical Engineering department to develop podcast videos for nanotecnology

2017: Recognized by the College of Education at the University of South Alabama as one of the top 50 graduates of the college at their 50th Anniversary





I am a product of Mobile County Public Schools, graduating from Shaw High School in 1994. I have 2 children, Ella (9/22/04) and Luke (6/27/08).
