Miss Alivia Payne represents EYE and EPIC at Ceremony
On October 8th, Davidson High School was recognized at a ceremony to kick off the Research Women Educators conference at UAB in Birmingham. The "activist" wing of RWE selected the local Engaging Youth in Engineering program sponsored by MAEF at Burns and Davidson to be recognized. Assistant Principal Brenda Bolton accepted a monetary award for "RWE Activist School" on behalf of the school for the engineering program. Miss Alivia Payne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Payne, was selected to represent the school in Birmingham. Miss Payne delivered a speech to the conference about her experiences in EYE at Burns and EPIC at Davidson, and talked about what the EPIC program offers to students.
